RONALDO'S RECORD BREAKING MOVE

Ronaldo's record breaking move to Al Nassr has completely taken over the headlines since it was announced. Christiano Ronaldo arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of completing his move to Al Nassr on the 2nd of January, 2023. Ronaldo's next move at club level has been a topic of much speculation ever since his much publicized interview in which he lambasted (his then team) Manchester United, aired by Piers Morgan.

The contents of the interview have been well maligned but it also resulted in the English giants moving to terminate the former world player of the year's existing contract with the club. The hierarchy at Manchester United released a statement during the winter World Cup in Qatar, thanking Christiano Ronaldo for his loyal services and declined to comment on any difference between the both parties.

Ronaldo has since decided to move on, but the choice of club and continent has derived much discussion. Ronaldo opted for the most lucrative contract in all of football's history, to sign on a whopping $214 million a year, compare that to the closest paid footballer, PSG's kylian Mbappe who is currently on $63 Million per year.

The former 4 time ballon d'Or winner leaves Europe as the all time highest goal scorer in Europe's most prestigious competition the Champions League and also the active player with the most goals currently.
